This project involved construction of the extension to the existing Abu Dhabi International Airport.
The scope of work included the construction of state-of-the-art first class and business class lounges, 25 check-in desks, approximately 3,000 square metres of duty free retail space, food and beverage areas, as well as passenger screening checkpoints and customs and immigration control areas.
The new terminal, known as Terminal 3, is dedicated to serving the needs of Etihad Airways. The extension adds nine additional aircraft docking bays, two of which are able to accommodate the Airbus A380. The total floor area of the terminal is 58,000 square metres.
The project was constructed through a joint venture with South Africa’s Murray & Roberts.
